FAQ (Planny 5)

Transition from Planny 3 to Planny 6

Planny 6 was completely redesigned and reprogrammed. It's build on the newest SwiftUI framework and latest Apple technologies available. Therefor some things changed.

Import existing data?

  • It's recommended to use Planny 3 for old projects and start using Planny 6 for new projects.
  • An import tool is coming soon.
  • iCloud Sync was replaced with a new version and database to be more reliable than ever before. Therefor you can't activate "iCloud Sync" to download existing data.

Can I use my Premium subscription?

  • Make sure to use the latest Planny 3.5 update (coming soon).
  • Make sure that iCloud is enabled
  • Tap restore purchases in Planny 3.5
  • Open Planny 6
  • If the purchase isn't available yet, tap restore purchases in Planny 6

iCloud Sync

Most mails received are because of unavailable sync or failing sync. In all cases these issues could be fixed by one of the steps from this list:

Purchases and Subscriptions

Planny (3) Pro

Planny Pro was an add on for Planny to unlock all features (except Planny Teamwork) with a single purchase. Planny 3 Pro can be

Planny (3) Teamwork

Planny Teamwork was an add on for Planny to enable collaboration with others. It's a subscription that automatically renews until cancelled (see below for more information). Because Planny 4 doesn't support teamwork at the moment, Planny (3) Teamwork will unlock Planny 4 Premium

Planny Premium

Planny Premium is a single add on, that is available as one-time purchase or subscription. It combines the old Pro and Teamwork purchases.

I bought Premium but it doesn't work

Every subscription purchase has to be validated by servers. Depending on your network provider's restrictions or usage of VPN this validation can fail. Please check everything before contacting.

Cancel subscription

Developers aren't able / allowed to build in a "Cancel subscription" button inside apps. Instead Planny features a "Manage subscriptions" Button inside the Purchases View. Else you can do the following:

  • Go to Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store.
  • Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  • Tap View Apple ID. You might need to authenticate your Apple ID.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Tap the subscription that you want to manage.
  • If you're being charged for a subscription, but you don't see it in your list of subscriptions, it might be billed through someone other than Apple. Learn what to do if you still can’t view your subscription.
  • Use the options to manage your subscription. You can choose a different subscription offering, or tap Cancel Subscription to cancel your subscription. If you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

Apple Watch

Sync

Planny uses a special iCloud sync to sync between Watch and Phone, not the standard bluetooth sync. This enables more bandwidth and the transfer of more data and also enables Planny without iPhone over LTE.

iCloud Sync is automatically enabled on Apple Watch. To sync to other devices, Planny Premium is required.

Productivity Points

Planny has a built in productivity system to improve your productivity. You earn points for each task you create and complete, but you also lose points for every task you shift or forget.

Notifications

Planny supports two types of notifications. Local notifications for things like reminders and push notifications for teamwork.

Local notifications

To receive local notifications make sure to enable Push Notifications inside the iOS settings.

Push notifications

To receive push notifications make sure to enable Push Notifications inside the iOS settings.

Also activate background refresh in the iOS settings. Make sure that the app wasn't closed by swiping. After the app is completely closed you won't receive any notifications. Also, because of iOS power management, notifications might not always get delivered. In addition to that, notifications only work on iOS 12 or later. On older versions notifications might not get delivered.
